Start Your Day the French Way

Wake up to birdsong and take a gentle morning stroll to the local boulangerie. Pick up a crusty baguette, flaky croissants, and maybe a pain au chocolat or two. Head back to enjoy breakfast al fresco on the patio, listening to the birds and soaking in the morning sun.

Wander the Grounds

The Moulin is set within peaceful, private grounds bordered by a quiet river and dotted with fruit trees. Wander through the orchard, enjoy the simple delight of feeding the chickens, and pause to hear the water flowing over the weir. Keep an eye out for wildlife along the way – kingfishers, otters, butterflies, and more. Here, nature is never far; it surrounds you at every step.

Explore on Foot

There are several short walks from the Moulin, including tranquil riverside paths and a loop around the picturesque village of Saint-Séverin, with its Romanesque church, local bar, and SPAR supermarket. Everything feels close, easy, and unhurried.

As evening settles in, enjoy apéritifs on the terrace – perhaps some local cheese and charcuterie, paired with a bottle of regional wine. Light the BBQ or simply settle in for some stargazing beneath clear night skies. With virtually no light pollution, the stars truly shine.

We had a wonderful stay at Gary and Jo’s Gite. They were excellent hosts, suggesting some great things to do including the local fete in Lusignac and some great restaurants. For our family of 4 with 2 young daughters, the gite was perfect, set in beautiful and peaceful surroundings, with a lovely pool and walking distance to the village. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to others.

We were in France to attend a wedding. The property was only 2 minutes away and so perfect location. Both Joanne and Gary were excellent hosts, helping us with information regarding the local area.
